How To Clean Your Curtains
1. Check any attached labels - many curtains come with specific instructions to dry clean or wash in a particular manner.
2. Take them down and place them in the machine without any other laundry, since they will need room to move around in. For drapes made of delicate cloth, wash them in a tub or otherwise by hand.
3. Wash curtains in cold or warm water - hot water might shrink the curtains. Do not set a harsh cycle; choose the 'hand wash' option on your washing machine or rub them gently if washing by hand.
4. When taking them out, wring the water out of the curtains gently. Hang them to dry by their hooks at first - hanging them on a clothesline might cause creasing or fading. You can also hang them on the shower curtain bar in your bathroom, if you dont have a clothesline. Bring them in once slightly dry.
5. If you have very large curtains, wash them in the bathing area or take them to the local laundry, so that they dont get damaged while being cleaned.
6. To keep the dust from building up on your curtains, vaccum them once a month.
